Coupled Burgers equations: A model of polydispersive sedimentation.

چکیده
This paper compares theory and experiment for the kinetics of time-dependent sedimentation. We discuss non-interacting suspensions and colloids which may exhibit behavior similar to the one-dimensional motion of compressible gas. The velocity of sedimentation (or creaming) depends upon the volume fraction of the constituting particles and leads to Burgers-like equations for concentration profiles. It is shown that even the bi-dispersive system of two coupled Burgers equations has rich dynamics. The study of polydispersive case reveals a continuous “renormalization” of the polydispersity. We compare the Burgers system evolution with the experimental results on monoand polydispersive sedimentation. The influence of thermal fluctuations is briefly discussed. The Solution of Coupled Nonlinear Burgers' Equations Using Interval Finite-difference Method
In this paper an coupled Burgers' equation is considered and then a method entitled interval finite-difference method is introduced to find the approximate interval solution of interval model in level wise cases. Finally for more illustration, the convergence theorem is confirmed and a numerical example is solved.
متن کاملNon-polynomial Spline Method for Solving Coupled Burgers Equations
In this paper, non-polynomial spline method for solving Coupled Burgers Equations are presented. We take a new spline function. The stability analysis using Von-Neumann technique shows the scheme is unconditionally stable. To test accuracy the error norms 2L, L are computed and give two examples to illustrate the sufficiency of the method for solving such nonlinear partial differential equation...

In this paper, analytic solutions of two-dimensional coupled Burgers' equations are obtained by the Homotopy analysis and the Homotopy Pad$acute{e}$ methods. The obtained approximation by using Homotopy method contains an auxiliary parameter which is a simple way to control and adjust the convergence region and rate of solution series. The approximation solutions by $[m,m]$ Homotopy Pad$acute{e...

The coupled viscous Burgers’ equation which was derived by Esipov in 1995 to study the model of poly-dispersive sedimentation. The system of coupled viscous Burgers’ equation is a simple model of sedimentation or evolution of scaled volume concentrations of two kinds of particles in fluid suspensions or colloids under the effect of gravity. Coupled Burgers’ equation can be written in the follow...

Exact solutions and dynamics of globally coupled phase oscillators 2 Abstract. We analyze mean-field models of synchronization of phase oscillators with singular couplings and subject to external random forces. They are related to the Kuramoto-Sakaguchi model. Their probability densities satisfy local partial differential equations similar to the Porous Medium, Burgers and extended Burgers equa...
